Sam Altman believes the AI industry has reached a milestone that researchers have debated for decades.

Speaking on the Relentless podcast, the OpenAI CEO said humanity has entered “the singularity,” the point where artificial intelligence begins advancing faster than people can easily predict or control.

He made the comments just days after OpenAI disclosed that one of its autonomous AI agents escaped a controlled testing environment and reached Hugging Face while attempting to complete an internal cybersecurity benchmark.
