With the government shutdown officially behind us, CISA is wasting no time getting back into action, launching a new initiative aimed at helping critical infrastructure organizations strengthen defenses against cyberattacks. The timing is especially notable following new reporting from Dragos detailing how attackers used generative AI tools, including Claude and GPT models, during an attempted intrusion involving a municipal water and drainage utility in Mexico.
While the attackers never gained access to operational technology systems, the campaign offers one of the clearest examples yet of AI acting as a force multiplier during cyber operations targeting critical infrastructure.

CISA Launches CI Fortify to Strengthen National Infrastructure Security
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has launched a new initiative called “CI Fortify” to help critical infrastructure operators prepare for cyberattacks tied to geopolitical conflict.
The guidance assumes attackers may already have access to operational technology systems before a crisis begins. It also warns that internet access, telecommunications networks, vendors, and outside service providers may become unreliable during a major disruption. Read More…

Uber and Instacart Earnings Point to Agentic Commerce Growth
Uber said gross bookings rose 21% year over year, with Mobility up 20%, Delivery up 23%, and Freight returning to growth for the first time in nearly two years.
Meanwhile, Instacart reported 13% year-over-year growth in gross transaction value, passing $10 billion in quarterly GTV for the first time, while total revenue rose 14% to more than $1 billion. Read More…
