What is the proper etiquette for replying to work messages after 5:00? I understand the need for boundaries, and I do not think people should be working all night. At the same time, I think a quick reply can go a long way. What is the right expectation?

I do not think it is unreasonable at all.

In fact, I think responsiveness is one of the most underrated professional habits in the workplace. It does not always get listed on a performance review. It is rarely taught in onboarding.
